Summer is coming to a close, and we have about 16 (not including league finals) weekend league events left. That's wild, considering that we started back in April with around 60!
It's been a busy summer, with the Forest City Open happening in July, Weekend League almost every weekend since April, and Thursday Doubles happening every Thursday.
We've also weathered a few more storms where trees came down on hole 7. Thanks the the anonymous volunteers that took the time to clean up those trees! Seriously, I have no idea who you are, but thanks! I heard maybe it was Jason G. but cannot confirm 😂
Heres a rundown of upcoming events as the 2026 season winds down.
Weekend League
As mentioned, we have about 16 Saturday/Sundays left of Weekend League. It happens every Saturday and Sunday (except September 26, which is reserved for our Sadistic September event). Check in between 9:30 - 9:45 AM. Tee off at 10:00 AM. Cost is $4 per event.
Digital Tag Updates
As you might be aware, Weekend League this year we're using digital for tags, which allows tags to expire and be reclaimed if players take extended time away from the league. There aren't a lot of great solutions out there for this, so... I built one. After a period of building it out and testing that took longer than expected, the app is available on the iOS app store. If you're interested in how to get your hands on it (if you can't find it in the iOS App Store), talk to me.
For Android users, I haven't been able to get it in the Google Play store yet as I need at least 10 beta testers. If you're interested, you can join the beta. Let me know if you're interested by sending an email to support @getdynasty.app. Your email address should be the one that you use to access the play store.
As of September 6th 2026, here are the current standings:

Keep an eye on www.ldga.ca/leagues for continued leaderboard updates.
League Finals
League Finals will take place Saturday, November 7th. Save the date! More details will be soon, but as usual, it will take place at the regular weekend league time of 10AM.
Upcoming Events
Sadistic September
In past years we've had Angry August (which unfortunately didn't take place last year). Due to the amount of tournaments happening in August, we decided to hold this event in September this year and call it Sadistic September!

Join us for some wild safari holes and other course modifications that will make things challenging and leave you laughing, crying, or just plain... ANGRY.
You can sign up on Disc Golf Scene, here, or pay cash on the day of.
Thursday Random Doubles
Random doubles continues until November 5th! Every Thursday. Check in between 5:00 - 5:20 PM, Tee off at 5:30 PM. 42 St. Julien Street. We've had a great turnout so far and look forward to seeing more new faces! Here's the details:

Tee off: 5:30 PM
Check-in: 5:00–5:20 PM
Other Updates
Provincials Spot
Our club earned a provincials spot thanks to our members earning 24 points in the Ontario Club Championships power rankings. LDGA members who qualified for provincials include Sara Behar, Pete Chapman, Dylan Egan, John Holman, Joe McCafferty, Ian McCausland (that's me!), Dave Northrup, Derek Oswick, Chris Hanebury, Jeff Malton, Anwar Al-Shawi, and Mark Stout.
We elected to send Kyle Degaust to provincials with the spot that we earned. We took the list of LDGA members that are also ODSA members (a requirement for provincials) and it came down to three members. Kyle won the draw! Congrats Kyle, and best of luck! Joe McCafferty and Derek Oswick will also be representing the LDGA at provincials. Lets go!
Jr. League
Jr. League has wrapped up for the year. Huge thanks to LDGA members Adam Bellaire and Sara Behar for running another sucessful LDgA Jr. League this year at Basil Grover. What a great way to showcase our beautiful 9-hole at Basil Grover Park and to get the youth involved in Disc Golf! A great time was had by all, and they're already looking forward to next year!
Women's League
Women's league wraps up September 7th. Huge thanks to Sam Russell for organizing this weekly event.
Storage Container
Last newsletter, I mentioned that league President Paddy McCormack was having some conversations with the city about getting a storage container on site at St. Julien so that we can have the tools we need for course maintenance, etc. ready at hand. Unfortunately, we weren't able to make this happen right now.
Hole 2
As you may have heard, a maintenance truck ran over the long pin on hole 2. We received compensation from the company and purchased a replacement basket, along with the rest of the items we need to replace that pin position. We are looking to re-install it soon. Thank you, Paddy, for liasoning with the company and ensuring we were able to get the replacement basket!
Also, thank you to Anwar Al-Shaw for donating and installing the rock on hole 2 that elevates the basket. It's a great new addition to the course and looks amazing!
Forest City Open
Forest City Open was held back in July and it was a huge success! Congrats and thanks to LDGA members Derek Oswick and Kyle DeGaust for TD-ing another successful event, LDGA member Corey Gill for painting the OB lines, Jonathan Zvonkin, and LDGA members Jason Gravel, Jason Day, Patrick Theriault, Mark Stout, Andrew Ostrom for spotting. The course looked great, and it was awesome to try out a few extra holes.
You can recap July 11th results here and July 12th results here.
Course Layout
The course is on its hardest configuration of the year and boy are my hips sore already. But if you wish it was even harder, don't forget to register for Sadistic September (link below!)
